With the support of Sheikh Mohammed Al Amoudi, one of the largest investors in Africa, Forbes ranked billionaire and Ethiopia’s biggest employer, the Africa Business Forum will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on 1st March 2017.
The Africa Business Forum was founded in 2014, as a bi-annual gathering in Africa and the Middle East, seeking to create partnerships to promote trade, accelerate job creation and encourage investment on the continent.
Founder and Chairman Rashed Ahmed’s vision is to build a global community of informed business leaders and change the perception of doing business in Africa through a business portal to encourage trade and investment in Africa and by highlighting the business successes across the continent.
Keynote speakers and panellists at the Africa Business Forum include: Fitsum Arega, Director General of the Ethiopian Investment Commission; Johnny Muteba, CEO, Pan African Chamber of Commerce; and Craig Bridgman, Former Global Head of Investment Banking for Clarkson Capital Markets, currently Executive Chairman of East Africa Oil Field Services and Founder of Adamantine Energy.
“We look forward to bringing together the many business leaders and offering international companies considerable opportunities to enter and become successful in one of the fastest growing economies in the world. The 5th Africa Business Forum is an incredible convening center for global stakeholders and an opportunity to share perspectives on the issues facing global business and beyond,” Ahmed said.
Africa is home to six of the ten fastest growing economies in the world. The IMF estimates its GDP to reach $1.9 trillion by 2018. The continent’s advantages include vast untapped oil, gas, agriculture, gold and precious metals.
Finance & Capital Investment; ICT; Agriculture & Mining; Power & Energy; Consumer Goods & General Trade; Logistics & Aviation; Infrastructure; Tourism; Hospitality & Real Estate; Manufacturing; and related industries will form the panel topics.
Africa Business Forum will be an opportunity for investors to connect with clients from across industries and from around the world; and to maximize market share by building connections with African customers and partners.
Distinguished participants will include ambassadors, senior government officials, business leaders, investors and CEOs.
A Business-to-Business (B2B) Investment Meeting will be held prior to the Forum on 25th January, 2017 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
