ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT: Climate and Environment Division (CBC)

DURATION: Assignments from one to six months on a when actually employed basis; and assignments for 11 months
when applicable.

FAO International Consultants and Call purpose
The purpose of this call is to provide FAO’s Climate and Environment Division (CBC) with a list of qualified candidates for a number
of profiles (or Job Titles) with different specializations to enhance FAO’s programme of work as indicated below:

  • GCF Project Team Leaders
  • GCF Advisors
  • GCF Project Formulators

Green Climate Fund (GCF) is the largest international climate fund. It is the main financing instrument under the UNFCCC. In
the Paris Agreement on climate change, developed countries reiterated their commitment to channel at least USD 100 billion in annual climate finance to developing countries by 2020, and agreed to establish a more ambitious climate finance target for 2025. There is growing international recognition that the agricultural sectors will play a central role in responding to climate change, as these sectors are among the foremost priorities in the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) submitted by countries under the UNFCCC. FAO has an important role to play in supporting its Member States to access and utilize GCF resources, as evidenced by the growing number of requests from government counterparts.

Contracts will be based in FAO HQs or another FAO location with required travel for field missions
