Corporate Farmers International Limited (CFIL), an Agribusiness innovation company on Tuesday launched an Agriculture and entertainment radio application, known as Agrotainment Radio app.
The firm’s Managing Partner, Mr. Akin Alabi, told newsmen in Lagos that the app is designed to create a 24/7 knowledge sharing platform on various Agricultural enterprise and value chain in Nigeria for Africa.
Alabi said that it would also provide an avenue for farmers in Nigeria and Africa to connect, speak and be heard; a platform to link sellers and buyers of agriculture products.
“This mobile app, agrotainment radio, will give provide an opportunity to get first-hand information on sponsor or grant for agricultural Projects,” he said.
Speaking also at the event, a partner of CFIL, Mr Ade Ajayi, said that the app would serve as a radio inside a pocket.
Ajayi said that the app was more tilted toward the younger segment of the world’s population that would later incorporate the old farmers in the rural farming communities.
“We know not all farmers have an android phone but we are hoping that the youths in farming will pass the message to their older counterparts.
“It is a new trend that will add entertainment and fun to agriculture 24 hours daily. We are currently getting indications of content providers from across the world’’ he said.
The app is available on Google Play Store for Android mobile phone users, to download the app, just type ‘Agrotainment Radio’.
