Ten lucky customers win a live bull from Zambeef
Excitement spread across the length and breadth of Zambia this week as Zambeef unveiled the lucky winners of its ‘Win a Bull’ competition draw.
The draw, which has captured the imagination of shoppers throughout the country, attracted an estimated 100,000 entries from its outlets in all ten provinces.
“We are very excited to have this draw. Our customers are number one, and as a way of giving back we thought this competition would be a small token to allow our clients to be more participatory. Business is two-way, it’s not one-way. It’s not a matter of us selling something to you, or you buying something from us; it goes beyond exchange of money, and this is what we are trying to demonstrate with the competition,” said Zambeef General Manager Retailing Felix Lupindula.
The bulls will be presented to the winners at a ceremony in Lusaka in the coming weeks. Non-farmers can redeem the bulls for cash at the market price.
Twenty other customers each received K2,000 in Zambeef shopping vouchers, learning the happy news through phone calls from the Zambeef team during the draw, which was streamed live on social media and overseen for fairness by auditors from Grant Thornton.
“I want to thank each and every one of our customers very much for your support. Without happy, contented, satisfied customers, Zambeef would not exist. We have lots and lots of stakeholders: we have suppliers, we have employees, we have government, but the most important stakeholder is our customer,” said Zambeef Chief Executive Officer Francis Grogan.
To enter, customers had only to spend at least K50 on Zambeef dairy, pork poultry or beef products – readily available in its butcheries. Entrants then filled the back of the receipt with their details and dropped it in the entry box at 96 participating outlets. Each Zambeef receipt was equal to one entry and customers could enter as often as they wish.
Bull winners were: Gastine Kapopo (Central), Golden Hambula (Lusaka), Memory Mangala (Luapula), Nicoletta Katulwende (Southern), Mutale Mungalu (Northern), Joseph Tembo (Eastern), Mwelwa Mututwa (Western), Rabecca Nalungwe (North-Western), Mulala Sikota (Muchinga) and Eric Mwanza (Copperbelt).
Shopping voucher winners were: Phillimon Phiri, Tabley Sabantu, Patrick Kasongo, Laureen Longwe, Patson Mukwta, Kephas Matibula, Kephas Matibula, David Bwalya, Christine Mutolo, Bornwell Kabulubulu, Vincent Siachibondo, Ephraim Mwale, Elizabeth Mwanza, Ireen Chilombo, Conrad Muzeta, Judith Simutami, Neria Nzonzi, Silvia Tukombe, Idah Manchishi and Jacob Chisala.
