Nigeria: NASC and Donald Danforth Plant Science Centre signs MOU for Biotechnology advancement

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the National Agricultural Seeds Council (NASC) and the Donald Danforth Plant Science Centre, Saint Louis, United State of America (USA) for Cooperation in Seed Certification Molecular Technologies and Support to the National Biotechnology Strategy on the 29th September, 2021.

The objective of the partnership is to foster a collaborative relationship between both parties which is aimed at developing and implementing strategies that will enhance the use of molecular diagnostics technologies within the seed certification programs, explore and promote opportunities for bilateral scientific exchanges between the institutions, and organization of activities of mutual interest which includes expert consultations, trainings, conferences and workshops.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Phillip Olusegun Ojo (DG NASC) and Dr. Donald J Mackenzie (Executive Director, Institute for International Crop Improvement, Donald Danforth Centre).

We look forward to more partnerships that will advance innovation in Biotechnology and increase food security in Nigeria
