The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries (MAFF) of Japan, and the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS), organizes an award every year since 2007 for young agricultural researchers.
The award aims to increase motivation among young researchers and contribute to the development of agriculture in forestry, fishery, and other related agricultural activities.
The 2022 Japan International Award for Young Agricultural Researchers (Japan Award) ceremony will take place this year and a sum of $5,000 will be awarded to the participant
whose research is promising and has an outstanding performance in research work in agriculture, forestry, fisheries, or other related industries;
who has outstanding achievements in research and development that will lead to technological innovations in agriculture and other related industries for regions that are developing.
Individuals who are interested must be
- under the age of 40(as of January 1, 2022)
- a researcher who is a citizen of a developing country/region and belongs to a non-japanese institute or attend a non-japanese university a researcher in forestry, fisheries and other related industries
- able to attend the awarding ceremony in Japan 2022.
