Nigeria: Ogun State Government Pledges On Agric Value Chain

Ogun State pledges

The Ogun State government has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting the agricultural value chain in order to increase food production and diversify the economy.

The Ogun State Governor, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun provided the promise on Monday at the M.K.O Abiola trade fair complex in Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, at the closing ceremony of the 11th Gateway International Trade Fair.

The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Engineer Noimot Salako-Oyedele, said the theme of this year’s trade fair, “harnessing the agricultural value chain for sustainable industrial and economic development,” was appropriate given the urgent need to make agriculture the country’s mainstay.

While noting that trade fair exhibitions have remained a focal point for manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers in the state, Ogun State Governor, His Excellency Prince Abiodun pledged that the present administration will continue to prioritize trade fair exhibitions for economic growth.

According to the governor, no stone would be left unturned in his efforts to make the state the nation’s industrial hub by enhancing current infrastructure and constructing new ones in the state.

He congratulated the Ogun State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA) on the trade fair’s success, noting that the government will continue to assist the chambers for greater socio-economic benefit.
