Cocoa plantations in West Africa are not as productive as they should be, resulting in low farm revenue. Farmers have expanded their farms into forests to compensate and better their livelihoods. Poor soil fertility has emerged as one of the most crucial causes contributing to a drop in cocoa productivity, among other things. Furthermore, the information deficit on optimum crop nutrition and cocoa tree management cannot be overstated. Knowledge about the ideal nutrition for the cocoa tree, in particular (in terms of the different key plant nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and other nutrients is lacking).
The Cocaasoils consortium is delighted to extend an invitation to the annual Cocoasoils Forum 2022 to you.
Theme: “Looking back and moving forward: closing knowledge gaps to create a sustainable cocoa sector.”
