Saudi Arabia plans to invest in Ethiopia’s agriculture and livestock industries

Lencho Bati, Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, met with Ahmed S. Al-Khamti, Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister for Agriculture Affairs, to discuss the situation.

The Saudi Deputy Minister was informed by Ambassador Lencho of the business prospects Ethiopia has been offering international companies in the agriculture and livestock sectors.

The envoy stressed the investment opportunities Ethiopia offers Saudi Arabia in these domains. The Ambassador also asked the Deputy Minister to ease the prohibition on Ethiopian cattle exports imposed by Saudi Arabia.

On his part, Ahmed highlighted his country’s desire to invest in agriculture and livestock after talking with the government and commercial businesses.

The minister also stated that the ministry will explore taking the required steps to lift the ban on the entry of Ethiopian live animals.
