The Federal Government has acknowledged an epidemic of locusts and swarming birds in three Northern states.
According to reports, agriculture products are being destroyed in three northern states by locusts and swarms of birds.
Dr. Maimuna Habibu, the federation’s chief veterinary officer, told reporters that Zamfara and Kebbi states in particular have reported incidences of locust infestation.
She revealed that officials had been sent out to start aerial strikes against locusts in the afflicted states.
Habibu remarked that farmers in the impacted states had complained about crop destruction prior to this.
