Nigeria: Federal government distributes food items to indigents in Adamawa state

The federal government of Nigeria sends food items to the indigents and vulnerable in communities in Adamawa state, this is to achieve the sustainable development goal 2- end hunger.

The food items was delivered by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory in person of  Malam Muhammad Bello. The grains is worth over N100 million.

The food items which are basically grains were provided for the   people of Adamawa State as part of the Federal Government’s efforts to provide agricultural commodities to Nigerians pending the commencement of the harvest season.

The grains are from the Federal Government’s ministry of Agriculture – Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development FMARD grain reserve. The agricultural commodities includes  about 3,600 fifty Kilogramme  bags of maize, 1850 fifty kilogramme bags of sorghum, 1200 fifty kilogramme bags of millet and 1200 fifty kilogramme bags of garri.

The grains were received by Senator Abdul-Aziz Nyako and other political and community leaders in the State on behalf of the people.

Malam Bello urged the state government to make sure the grains were distributed to the vulnerable and indigent members of the communities in the State.

The Senator, also pledged on behalf of the community leaders, to ensure the equitable distribution of the food items to the vulnerable and needy.
