In view of the change of Status of the College of Agriculture to the College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, the need for additional Departments and Programmes becomes imperative.
Consequently, the Governing Council of the College of Agriculture, Science and Technology Lafia, Nasarawa State hereby invites interested and suitably qualified candidates to apply for the following existing positions in the College of Agriculture, Science and Technology Lafia, Nasarawa State.
COLLEGE LIBRARIAN
Duties
The College Librarian is the academic head of the College Library and is responsible to the Provost for the day to day administration of the College Library and Co-ordination of the College Library and Information Services and the Teaching Units of the College.
Academic /Professional Qualifications
Candidates for the position of College Librarian must possess the following:
- A good first degree in Library Science plus Masters Degree (MLS) with at least Fifteen (15) years cognate work experience in Library, five (5) of which must be unbroken service in a College of Technology or an institution of comparable or higher standing or PhD with at least Twelve (12) years of cognate working experience in Library and Information Science from a recognized Institution
- Have NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption;
Strong evidence of contribution to Library and Information field through research and publication in reputable journals;
Dissemination of knowledge through academic and professional activities - Must Have contributed to knowledge through research and publication in reputable journals, as well as possess proven records of sound administrative leadership
- Evidence of Community Service
- Be computer literate and proficient in relevant computer applications and ICT
- Be a registered member of the Library Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN)
- Be of proven integrity, intellectually, professionally sound and physically fit; and Have good human relations.
iii. Terms of Appointment and Conditions of Service
The successful candidate shall hold office for a single term of five (5) years and no more effective from the date of appointment. The salary attached to this position is CONPCASS 9/9. In addition, the appointee shall enjoy any other benefits attached to the position of a Principal Officer of the College as stipulated in the College’s Conditions of service.

Candidates must have a sufficient number of admissible scholarly publications in reputable journals. The candidate must be a registered member of his/her professional body. Have strong evidence of potential for continual research activity and academic leadership/Administrative Responsibility. Show evidence of Community Service and must be Computer literate.
Lecturer I (CONPCASS 05)
A good honours degree not below second class lower division in relevant fields of specialization, who has been a Lecturer II with three years teaching experience (College of Technology teaching experience or an institution of comparable or higher standing). Candidates must have a sufficient number of admissible scholarly publications in reputable journals and a demonstrable ability to initiate and develop research. Be a registered member of a relevant professional body and be Computer literate.
Lecturer II (CONPCASS 03)
A good honours degree not below second class lower division in relevant fields of specialization who has been a Lecturer III with three years teaching experience (College of Technology teaching experience or an institution of comparable or higher standing). The candidate must have a sufficient number of admissible scholarly publications in reputable journals and a demonstrable ability to initiate and develop research. Be a registered member of a relevant professional body and be Computer literate.

A good honours degree not below second class lower division in relevant fields of specialization, with three years teaching experience (College of Technology teaching experience or an institution of comparable or higher standing) as an Assistant Lecturer or a Master’s degree in the relevant field plus NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Certificate or Letter of Exclusion. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Senior Assistant Registrar (CONTEDISS 11)
Candidates for the position of Senior Assistant Registrar must have a good honours Degree (minimum of Second Class Lower Division) in the Arts, Social Science or Humanities plus at least nine years’ post qualification cognate experience or Masters’ Degree in the relevant discipline plus at least six years post qualification cognate experience, or a relevant Doctorate Degree with at least three years post qualification cognate experience. Have NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption. The candidate must be Computer literate and a registered member of a relevant professional body.
Quantity Surveyor II (CONTEDISS 07)
Candidate must possess a good Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Survey from a recognized University or a pass in the examination of the Royal Institute Chartered Surveyors or a pass in the final examination of the Nigeria Institute of Surveyors. Candidates must be Computer literate and a registered member of the relevant professional body.
Architect II (CONTEDISS 08)
Candidates must possess a good Bachelor of Science Degree in Architecture (minimum of Second Class Lower Division), M.Sc in Architecture from a recognized University, plus NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Certificate or Letter of Exclusion. A pass in the Final I Examination of the Royal Institute of British Architecture (RIBA) or a pass in the final I examination of the Nigeria Institute of Architecture (NIA). Candidates must be registered with the Architectural Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON). Candidates must be Computer literate.

Candidates must possess a good Honours Degree (minimum of Second Class Lower Division) in relevant discipline plus NYSC Certificate.

Coach Grade-II (CONTEDISS 07)
Candidates should possess any of the following fitness qualifications: A good Bachelor’s Degree (minimum of Second Class Lower Division) in Physical and Health Education or Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) in Physical and Health Education plus three (3) years cognate experience or National Institute for Sports Grade II Coaching Certificate with at least three years coaching experience. The candidate must be Computer literate.
